Located in Tallahassee, Florida, Sovran Building Systems furnishes construction services such as concrete, masonry, and framing for general contractors. Beyond its professional activities, Sovran Building Systems is committed to giving back to the Florida community and supports the Coastal Conservation Association Florida.

A nonprofit organization, Coastal Conservation Association Florida (CCA Florida) operates 42 chapters statewide with a dedication to protecting the region’s marine resources. It recently shared news of the Everglade National Park’s new mandatory Boater Education Program. As of August 1, 2019, all marine boaters must complete the program, which provides insights into the park’s unique characteristics and the challenges of its waters in order to improve visitor experience, conserve park resources, and advance boater safety.

Boaters can complete the free Boater Education Program online by going to the Everglade’s page on the National Park Service’s website. The course is available in Spanish and English and takes roughly 45 minutes to finish. Once an individual has received a permit, they must keep an electronic or paper copy on hand while boating in the park. Permits have no expiration date.
